Global Sources (NASDAQ: GSOL) opened its 6th annual China Sourcing Fairsin Dubai today to help boost trade between China and the Middle East-North Africa (MENA) region. The events will run May 29-31, 2012, at the Dubai International Convention & Exhibition Centre. Featuring seven halls of suppliers, the Fairs are:

    • China Sourcing Fair: Baby & Children’s Products

    • China Sourcing Fair: Garments & Textiles
    • China Sourcing Fair: Gifts & Premiums

Highlighting China’s support for building trade ties with the MENA region, the provincial and municipal governments and other organizations sponsoring pavilions this year include Fujian, Hebei, Hunan, Jiangxi, Tianjin, Dalian, Yiwu, and the China Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export of Machinery and Electronic Products (CCCME). The Fairs are endorsed by the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry .

Officially opening the events was H.H. Sheikha Lubna Al Qasimi, U.A.E. Minister for Foreign Trade. Also joining the opening ceremony were:

    • Tommy Wong, President of Global Sources Exhibitions

The China Sourcing Fairs are exclusively for importers, traders, and other volume buyers who purchase consumer products for resale to markets throughout the MENA region. Last year, 10,038 qualified buyers from over 80 countries attended the event.
