The University of Dubai ( UD ) has delivered its first of three specialized courses to Dubai auditors and Dubai Police. Forensic Accounting, the first of three courses being offered, recently concluded with students from the Dubai Government’s Financial Audit Department and the Dubai Police Department with a certificate ceremony.

His Excellency Majid Al Shamsi, Chairman of University of Dubai Board of Trustees, handed out certificates to the 17 participants of the class, which consisted of 10, 3-hour sessions and a final project. The participants will also receive university credit, which can be counted toward a Master’s degree. Both members of the Financial Audit Department and the Dubai Police Department are expected to take part in the two subsequent classes – Forensic Auditing and Money Laundering and Financial Crimes Law.

Professor S.M. Khalid Nainar taught the first course, Forensic Accounting. “These courses help to protect and enhance the integrity of the financial systems,” he explained. “As Dubai enters the small set of world-class financial centers, it becomes a matter of great importance to maintain trust in the Dubai markets in particular and economy in general, to preserve the hard-earned reputation of Dubai.”
