IRENA holds island summit in search of sustainable energy solutions

IRENA, an intergovernmental organization, seeks to accelerate the deployment of all forms of renewable energy and facilitate the global transition to a sustainable energy future. The summit will examine island energy solutions in the context of the UN Secretary-General’s Sustainable Energy for All (SE4ALL) initiative and the outcome of the Rio+20 Conference.

The venue is the Radisson Blu Resort, St Julian’s, Malta. Media representatives can register before the opening session, which starts at 9am on Thursday, 6 September. Mr Amin and high-level officials will hold a press conference at 5.30pm on Friday, 7 September, with a press release to follow.
