Amadeus Jordan’s e-Commerce Workshop Focuses on eTrends in MENA

Amman, September 26th, 2012 – Amadeus Jordan, a leading transaction processor and provider of advanced technology solutions for the global travel and tourism industry, today organized an e-Commerce workshop for its local partners and clients revolving around eTrends in the MENA region.

In the media round table discussion organized by Amadeus Jordan ahead of the workshop, Mr. Shibu T. George, Business Solutions Manager (e-Commerce) Amadeus IT Group SA, spoke to over a hundred guests about the company’s regional services and their utility and significance in the local market. Since its establishment, Amadeus Jordan has introduced the latest and most technically advanced products for the Jordanian travel industry.

At the media round table, Mr. Fadi Asal, Amadeus Jordan General Manager, said: “By interacting with our local stakeholders through events such as these, we are able to continue focusing on building and maintaining mutually beneficial long-term relationships and further develop an understanding of where we can maximize our customers’ success”.

Amadeus Jordan provides sales, travel management consultancy, training and 24/7 help desk support to meet the needs of the Jordanian travel agency industry. Many of its e-Commerce solutions, such as Amadeus e-Power and Amadeus e-Packages, have significantly impacted the Jordanian market.

Mr. Shibu George, with over a decade of extensive technological and strategic experience in travel and tourism, stated: “Business models across the world are changing drastically with the advent of e-commerce. It is a trend that is rapidly spreading across the Middle East. A new set of socio-economic and geo-political factors are enabling the region to eclipse traditional travel centres in Europe, the US and Asia”.

Amadeus services over 6,000 corporations worldwide and some 100 of the world’s leading airlines. Several Arab Airlines currently use Amadeus e-commerce solutions, such as Royal Jordanian, Saudi Airlines, Etihad, Qatar Airways and others.
