• Undergraduate courses to commence September 2014

The International College of Engineering and Management (ICEM) are pleased to announce that Ministry scholarships for higher education will be available for new students who meet the entry criteria and wish to study at ICEM from September 2014. New private students and international students who meet the entry criteria will also be able to study at the college from September 2014.
The announcement follows a thorough and rigorous review of all aspects of the college by the MOHE to ensure excellent quality and standards of higher education at the college. ICEM offers unique courses in Oman and the Middle East enabling students to gain vocational qualifications in the engineering sector. These Courses build upon the College’s wealth of expertise and the international reputation of the University, but are tailored to the special requirements of major employers and students in the region. All courses are run in close collaboration with industry so that they are relevant, up to date and prepare students for excellent career opportunities.
Dr Martin Brown, Dean of ICEM commented on the awarding of the scholarships saying “We are delighted to be welcoming students this year, who will benefit from the excellent quality and in some cases unique vocational courses run by any college in the Middle East. Our courses will provide young people in Oman with the necessary skills and qualifications to successfully enter the job market.”
The decision is also an affirmation of the hard work and significant investment made by the college to provide a first class teaching and learning infrastructure and a superb student experience which produces vocational graduates for the oil and gas, civil defence, aviation, and construction industries which are crucial for the further economic development of Oman.
Students who are interested in studying Well Engineering, Fire Safety Engineering, Facilities Management or Health, Safety and Environment Management at ICEM will be able to register on the HEAC website. Students who have already selected colleges will be able to amend their decision at a number of college ‘internet centres’, including ICEM, between 17th July and 24th September 2014.
The International College of Engineering & Management is licensed by the Ministry of Higher Education in Oman and is also affiliated to the University of Central Lancashire (UCLan) in the UK. This affiliation agreement ensures the highest level of quality assurance that is characteristic of British Universities.
The University of Central Lancashire is a major provider of higher education in the United Kingdom, and has a history which dates back to1828 when it was known as the ‘Institution for the Diffusion of Knowledge’. Students joining the International College of Engineering & Management higher education programmes are registered with, and receive their awards from, the University in the UK.
