App-based service now covers six cities Egypt – offering more local residents a convenient, reliable way to get around town.
Careem, the region’s leading app-based car booking service, launches today in three new cities in Egypt, extending access to its services to a total of six destinations across the country.
The app is now live in Mansoura, Tanta and Hurghada, adding to its existing map that comprises prominent cities Cairo, Alexandria and Damanhour. These new markets are set to benefit from Careem’s range of convenient transportation options, that include Economy, Business and Engezny – a service that costs the same as economy cars but delivers the closest car to the customer’s location, regardless of type.
In September this year Careem announced the integration of 42,000 White Taxis into its existing fleet in Egypt, thereby strengthening its ecosystem and ensuring reliable services.
Last week Careem also announced the launch of Careem Water Taxi from 27 November, operated in collaboration with the Water Taxi company and available from 5 ports along the banks of the Nile every day of the week from 8am to 8pm except Fridays.

In addition to giving residents a swifter and convenient option to travel around the country’s cities, Careem’s entry in the city of Hurghada – a beach resort town along Egypt’s Red Sea coast – is well-positioned to serve tourists and visitors a safer transport experience during their excursions. Careem users will have access to complete information on their Captains who drive them around the destination, along with access to a 24×7, dedicated call center manned by 200 multi-lingual employees.
